Simple to use financial planning forecast template

I have just joined the Crunch community after a recommendation from a book I was reading and am very glad to have found the site and people involved.

I am currently planning my new business and need a simple financial planning/forecasting template to assist me with writing my business plan. Is anyone able to recommend a template I can access? I don't want/need anything overly complicated to begin with.

Brilliant shout asking for help getting the ball rolling - we don't have a template as such, but our downloadable business guide contains jargon-free tips and advice on what needs to go into a Business Plan.

If you'd prefer to watch a video, we also take you through this in our video 'Should I Go Self-Employed', which is part of our popular 'Take the Leap' series on Youtube. The bit about business plans kicks in around 2:48.

Hi @SarahH.

Are you after a full business plan, or just a financial forecasting tool ? If it’s the latter, I have just started using this MS Office Excel template.

If you have Excel, it works well to capture forecast cost and revenues for the coming year.

If it’s the former, it’s not a bad shout to start on the no.1 in Google for “business plan”..
