Open banking Starling

Hi all
I just created crunch account, so 100% noob. I tried to add a Starling account but after adding the bank account I don’t see the open banking icon to setup the sync as per the tutorial. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong , or is it just because I am on the free account still?

Hi Taimur,

Thanks for joining Crunch! That’s unusual, it should work. Could you check please if

the sort code is correct (it should be 60-83-71)
the account is a business or personal account (we can’t connect a feed if it’s personal)

Ah it’s personal, that would restrict me me from using crunch 🙁

Taimur, the reason why this is, is that Banks and HMRC much prefer the banking is for the designated purpose of business.

So our advice always is to setup a sole trader or limited company bank account. These days it’s super easy, especially with Starling.

It also makes it so much easier, rather than wading through stacks of personal transactions.
