I paid £160+VAT for Crunch to submit my 22-23 HMRC self assessment tax return recently.
Unfortunately I’ve been locked out of my HMRC digital ID as it’s not allowing verification using new passport/driving license. I cannot get into the self assessment section via the gov gateway to get activation code Crunch would require. I have spoken to HMRC support and digital support and have been told the only way is reactivate is to send out physical documents which may take 2 weeks.
I addition, I used an accountant last year who still has a portal setup with my gateway ID for filing my returns meaning I would need a (64-8) form to transfer the permission to Crunch further complicating the process.
Due to the deadline, I reluctantly opted to re-use the significantly more expensive accountants service. They have now filed my return.
As I no longer require the Crunch service, is it possible I can request a refund? Or at least roll over the fee for 23-24 Tax Year?
Thanks
