Tax refund query

I used Crunch to file my (first) self-assessment for tax year 22/23 in August 2023, and I am owed some money by HMRC, which I understand will be sent to me as a cheque.

I still haven’t received this and I wondered if this is normal or whether I need to contact HMRC?

Hi Hellu,

HMRC should process refunds 2 - 6 weeks after your return is filed. If it’s been longer than this, please look at your HMRC online account to check for any messages. You should also be able to view your refund there.
