Suz Hi Sue. Great question.
Content pillars are useful in a social media strategy to ensure that what you’re posting about is relevant to the business and your audience. Our main service is Strategy Development so we’re working with content pillars all the time! Think of them like buckets, each with related topics in.
For e.g. A cafe might have 3 content pillars which are
a) Food & Drink(what they sell, how they make it, where they buy it from)
b) Community (their customers, staff and local activities) and
c) Values (their ethical coffee, reducing food waste).
There will be topics within each pillar. The pillars are useful to brainstorm content within and keep it focused.
Does that make sense?
