My bank has hit me with a “tax residency self-certification form”, a US-centric form that includes quite complex financial descriptors that I’m unfamiliar with and I’m finding it hard to find any guidance on filling it in. HMRC had guidance that was redacted.
Has anyone come across this requirement from their bank? I’m a freelancer with a UK-based limited company, trading in the UK, I maybe have paid for products, services from the US, but I can’t help feel this form is meant for large businesses.
The bank have said they’re unable to give any advice.
