Custom VAT Rate

Hi there,

Shopify has started charging custom VAT rates on mixed supply of goods. IE I supply some goods that are 0 rated and some goods that are standard rated. Shopify apportions automatically the VAT according to the percentage amount of money.

I need to record this in my invoices that I charge to Retail Sales, but I can only choose between standard rate or zero rated. How can I get around this?

Crunch currently only supports Standard, Zero, Exempt and Outside of Scope rated VAT.

When raising invoices you could try using multiple line items to set some items as Standard and some as Standard.

Thank you for getting back to me. I will just put the delivery charge as Standard rated 20% rather than using the apportioned 5.7% that Shopify applied. I will essentially be “claiming” more output tax that I need to, but it at least solves the problem.
