Do I Need Separate VAT Numbers for Each Business Name as a Sole Trader?

I’m a sole trader planning to run a few online stores, each under a different registered business name. Since they’re all in the same online retail industry, I’m not sure if I need to apply for a separate VAT registration number for each business name, or if one VAT number will cover all of them. How does it usually work for sole traders with multiple businesses?

You could maybe look at a group registration, although this isn’t something Crunch would be able to support or help you with, but I think this would effectively register YOU as VAT registered, and then you can put the businesses into a partnership/VAT Group. Probably worth having a read through some HMRC guidelines/info. I found this one for you that might help:
