Hi @Dan-Harris what would be an extremely handy feature for you to add would be a feature that automatically tells you at any one time how much you can invoice without crossing the VAT threshold. The same way at any one time the software tells me what I can take as a dividend. The alert that tells me my 3 month turnover has exceeded £21,250 isn’t really helpful, especially if you want to maximise your revenue without crossing the threshold.

Currently, each time I invoice I have to export 12 months worth of invoices as an excel file to check the rolling sum and deduct it from £84999 to ensure that my invoices are below the threshold. I imagine a single line of code could make this process fully automated.

As general feedback, I’d say that the classic crunch works really well. Occasionally when I log in I find that Crunch has switched to the Beta layout and I immediately find myself switch back as it’s not as clear and easy to navigate.

In Beta mode, in Invoices page there is no way to record client payment.
The only option in Beta appears to be to go into Client Payment > New Client Payment which opens an empty template and is much more time-consuming and prone to mistakes - it would be much better to have the ability to click one button next to the relevant invoice so it auto-fills details, like you can do in Classic mode. It also negates any potential benefit of Beta mode by not having this essential function, as I always have to switch it back to Classic mode.

Also - the ability to add filters in Beta mode Invoices so you can find older invoices more easily.

Is there a way you could please add a 50% VAT rate. I have a leased company car, which i use for personal as well as professional use. As such I am only able to reclaim 50% of the VAT on the cost.

At the moment processing this needs a workaround - where i have to put half of the cost though at a standard rate VAT and half with xero VAT - which is just stupid.

So please can you add a 50% option for VAT when logging expenses? It can’t be too difficult to do as you already have multiple options in that menu.

I’ve run this past our Accounting team to get some pointers from them.

For a limited company (which is separate from the individual director), the company either owns the car or it doesn’t - there’s no middle ground. So, if a car was purchased in the personal name of the director, the director cannot claim 50% of the VAT. They simply have to claim the business miles they do in their personal vehicle.

I would recommend you get in touch to discuss your options in more detail with one of our accountants who will be very happy to assist.

Hi Dan-Harris thank for your reply - I had not spotted the “Add a Payment” button down the bottom so that solves that one!

Follow-up request - if a client pays multiple invoices with one payment, in Classic mode it is possible to record all these from one page (ie input the total payment then allocate amounts to correct invoices from list) - is this possible in Beta mode? This feature is very useful in Classic mode as it speeds up both adding payments and bank reconciliation, and reduces likelihood of mistakes.

And how about my second request above - adding search filters to invoice list in beta mode, to quickly find the invoice you’re looking for?

The new bank reconciliation is terrible compared to the classic. Please never turn that off. They new way is clunky and way less efficient!

Hi LPM1985 Thanks very much for your feedback on our bank reconciliation tool. As a Product team we discuss all feedback - whether it’s ideas, suggestions, or feature requests.

We’re confident that the approach we’ve taken is an improvement on the ‘Classic’ bank reconciliation view, and the majority of feedback we’ve received since the new bank reconciliation tool was released in spring 2020 confirms this. Before we released it we put it through a program of usability testing with a subset of clients, the outcome of which was very positive.

However, we acknowledge that it’s impossible to create something that’s universally liked, and when every client’s setup is different. But we’ve tried hard to create a clean, fast interface that works for all.

That being said, what you’re seeing now is by no means the final product. Our software is constantly evolving based on the feedback from our clients, and we have some further improvements to the bank reconciliation tool in the pipeline.

Hi Dan,

I don’t own the car, in my own personal name or my companies name, my company is leasing the car.

I have discussed all of this with one of the accountants already - a guy named Tom - he is the one who suggested I ask you for a 50% VAT option in the drop down when I companied about his work around (registering 2 expenses, one at 100% VAT and another at 0% VAT) being clunky.

Unfortunately it’s not currently possible to allocate a single payment to multiple invoices in Beta view.

Hello there,

Reconciling bank transactions can be a tedious task.

A great feature would be to AUTOMATICALLY MATCH expenses to correct companies and expense categories, either by previous selection or by rules.

Rules could work similar to Gmail filters, e.g. an expense which contains “Facebook” match to X and Y.

What do you think? That would be a massive time saver.

Dan-Harris On classic it is possible to search/invoice by client. This is a deal breaker for me and one of the reasons I haven’t moved to Beta. Will you be adding this feature?

Having just added the VAT service to my free account and now setting up a recurring expense I thought it might be a simple option to automatically add Crunch expenses, e.g. a tick-box in the overall profile or within the VAT section.

Hi Dan, I want to send a payment reminder to my clients. Whilst the system has this feature, it has to be selected when you create the invoice. If you don’t select it, there is no way to send a reminder. Can this feature be built into the software so you can select an invoice and from the drop-down menu, add ‘send payment reminder’?

Hi Dan. I use Crunch quite often but not enough to become an expert. The client payment and reconciling actions are so complicated - can you please make that easier and less time consuming; especially for non-GBP payments. thanks

Hi New to the Crunch software it would be great if the software had an overall income expenditure page as the two separate areas do not always give you an overview perspective so having an overview page would be great. Also, I see the software links with a number of external sites it would be great to see it linked to platforms like Ebay, Vinted etc so data can be transferred easily. Thanks

The corporation tax calculation shown in the dashboard does not account for the first year allowance and other special exemptions like super deduction. Other softwares like FreeAgent does this when adding expense. It would be good to have this feature so I can see the tax amount in live instead of waiting for the year end for the accountants to do the proper calculations.

Hey there, it would be great to have the idea of pots (For example in Monzo) supported within the product - I’m aware and following the guide for doing this in the current version of the platform but it’s pretty painful manipulating different spreadsheets when it could be handled in the app 😃.
