Hi, it would be convenient to be able to update the account login details oneself (email and password). At the moment, there seems no way to do this in the account, other than using the ‘Forgot password?’ link or emailing Support to request email change. I know it doesn’t need doing often but that’s normally a fairly basic function to be able to manage oneself.

Also, I always had trouble with the automated bank feed not pulling through transactions connected to Starling Bank. Several times I reset the feed connection or followed advice by manually uploading a statement to ‘prompt it’, but eventually I gave up and just manually upload statements for now.

Can we have an option to have the old dashboard back?

The new one is a little too salesy & less about how my business is doing. e.g. there’s no month-by-month breakdowns (revenue, expenses, revenue minus expenses)

There’s also nothing about the company’s corporation tax and other information that was handy to have on hand without having to dig for it.

Whilst the new page isn’t a like-for-like replacement of the old Dashboard, we’re confident it’s an improvement and provides a useful snapshot of your business finances. The figures you’ve mentioned remain available in other areas of the software, such as the Company Tax Dashboard and the Company Performance page.

That being said, the new Dashboard’s modular approach means we can fairly easily add additional content, so we’ll be actively taking on feedback such as yours to understand what will add value.

As a relatively new business owner and never having used accounting software before there have been a few things that have put me on edge. One thing that has been bugging me lately is some of the email reminders I’ve been getting. For example, i’ve recently received several emails reminding me to pay my Corportation tax, I was 99% certain I had, but getting these reminder emails put a bit on edge until I got in touch with the customer support team to confirm my payment months ago.

It would be great if your email reminder set up could be smarter, to only send to those who definitely haven’t done the thing you’re emailing about.

When consolidating banking, it’d be great if we could set a default item description for expenses from certain suppliers.

For example, every month I have an expense where I have to update the description to “off site backups”. Its never anything else. It’d massively streamline my expense logging, I honestly think 95% of my expenses would just use my default.

Can we get some quick edit/preview controls in the app for expenses? If I use Snap and want to check that it has categorised my expenses properly, it would be great to be able to preview the expense image and quickly edit anything that isn’t right.

Dan-Harris Please bring back the overview of outstanding, and draft invoice amounts in the dashboard. Please also bring back the overview of tax amounts accumulated. These features were removed. At least allow users to select which insights they’d like to get displayed (e.g., through a selection option).

Martin Thanks for your feedback on the new Dashboard! The changes and improvements we’ve made are based on historical usage data, along with feedback from our client base. We’ve placed what we know are the most common actions and important data on the Dashboard itself, whilst other areas of the software still provide some of the data that’s no longer available on the Dashboard.

That said, it’s not a closed book! We’re continuing to monitor feedback and will iterate and evolve the Dashboard accordingly. Please watch this space…
